My dad loves music. He has always been very talented musically, and I am thankful that he shared that with us all throughout my life at home with my parents. Growing up, my dad would play revallies on the piano to gather us for family scriptures every morning, play other classical, fast paced pieces as we ran around the family room laughing after Family Home Evening. My dad's music was at the heart of many happy times at home.
One of his greatest loves was playing the Organ. After working hard for years to build his company, we were all excited for dad when he decided to buy an organ of his own. Grandpa playing the organ was also something that Jacob looked forward to when we would come to visit.
Tonight Jacob sat with Grandpa at the organ as he played some of our favorite songs.
Jacob was so happy watching Grandpas fingers dance along the keys, and his loving and happy glances his way. Jacob sang along, or just made up his own words as they went along.
I was tucking Jacob into bed when we heard the organ playing. He jumped up and said "Mom! Instead of you singing me songs tonight, I just want to fall asleep to Papa's music." Then he jumped up, ran downstairs and sat next to my dad on the bench.
It was truly a night to remember. Jacob loves his Papa so much, and living here for this short time has been wonderful for all of us. Thank you Dad, for your sharing your love and talents with us, it is just a part of the wonderful legacy you are still creating.
