Michael had the Friday before Independence Day off, and we had a great and relaxing day together! My brother and his family were camping about an hour away that weekend, and we decided to go up with Rachel and Gary to meet up with my brother's family and have a cookout at their campsite with them...Well, there was poor cell service, and we drove (4 wheeled mostly - yay!) around for a while but we could not find their campsite, so we decided to stop and make a fire and cook what we brought. We were sad to miss the other family members, but we had a great time! It was Jacob's first cookout!
Michael LOVES the mountains. Seeing him up there was like seeing a kid in a candy store - and he and Jacob wasted no time in rounding up fire wood, running around and getting dirty! :) Not to mention making a nice campfire...
Because we had planned on meeting up with everyone, we didn't have some of the supplies that would have been nice - but we made the most of it and laughed a lot.

This picture was right after Jacob had been holding his roaster with a hot dog on it over the fire. He stood there for a minute or two, and then he asked Michael to cook his hot dog for him and said "Daddy, will you hold it over the fire? My noggin is too hot!" :).

Sabella wanted our food so bad! It was so funny to watch her stare at all of us eating our dinner. Rachel gave her some small pieces of the hot dog bun, and she was so excited she was practically giggling! She was more than happy to hold the hot dog :P.

Then it was time to bust out the
smores!

Jacob still had a "hot noggin", so Michael helped him with his marshmallow. Jacob had never had a smore before (I know...its never too late, right??)

The first bite...he liked it, but didn't even eat the whole thing. He was too excited to run around in the dirt!

Then there was the glow stick light saber fights... :)

We had a great time! We got home late, dirty and happy. Thanks Rachel and Gary!!
