Tonight we went up to my parents house and had a family talent show for FHE with Vera's family, Rachel and Gary and my parents. It was so fun and sweet to see all the kids! Jacob played the harmonica for his talent, and was great! We have a funny video of him later in the evening playing it with his nose - hahahaha! He also sang a primary song for everyone. He has the sweetest, clearest little voice. I love to hear him sing!
Megan did a puppet show about a king and queen who got married...it was funny. :)
Lauren did some magic tricks. Here they are laughing because Jacob drew the card and told her right away what it was - she played it well though, very cute!
Katelyn did a magic act with some disappearing tricks (...you didn't see anything...lol)
Ashley and Anna played a piano and flue duet. It was beautiful. They are so talented!! After that my sister Vera and I did a "chin people" skit singing "I'm A Little Tea Pot". Good times...good times... :)
One of the last talents was such a special treat! My dad told them a story he has been telling all of us since he was away in Vietnam and the oldest kids were babies. He would send home recordings of them for my mom to play for the kids at bedtime while he was away in the war. They are about a horse named Bumble Bottom :). He has all kinds of animal friends with funny names and they have all kinds of adventures together. The story he told here was an old favorite about the missing flower pies. I have to say tears came to my eyes to see Jacob so enamored with these stories that I grew up with - being told to him the same animated and creative way they were told to me - by my dad. It was an unforgettable experience.
