Well, I forgot to bring my camera to our awesome Thanksgiving dinner with my family. We had incredible food, amazingly tiny dinner rolls (thanks to myself - it was pretty funny) and a lot of great conversation and fun. We have been blessed with a great family!
Before leaving for my parents house to celebrate and eat, we had a relaxing morning at home. Jacob came into our room and announced that he was going on a Safari to find jungle animals and take pictures of them. He was so excited, packed and ready to head off to Africa! He showed us everything he packed, and even told us why:
What every safari explorer needs (according to Jacob - in his words)
1. Sleeping bag - for sleeping on the ground and looking at the stars...then tracking lions.
2. A backpack (to carry the following)
3. A visor to keep your nose from being burned
4. 3 DVD's for when you want to take a break and watch a show
5. Light Saber - because there will be bad guys
6. Blaster - for one of us, because he will need help getting those Lamanites to go away
7. A rock - like David had of course!
8. Balloons - for fun and blowing up in the jungle where the birds will see them
9. Bowl - for food
10. Telescope - for watching the animals and looking for bad guys
11. Hand sanitizer - for keeping my hands from germs that make me sick
12. Pillowcase - for sleeping
13. Sunglasses - for my eyes, the jungle gets bright with all that sunshine
14. Beans (in a bag) - those are for Mom (?? hahaha!)
15. Wet wipes - because Mom would want those, too.
16. 2 camera's - for taking pictures of the animals
Then Jacob showed us his "explorer faces", and yes, he said "Arrrr me matey!" with this one:
Apparently explorers are very serious people...and maybe a little, hmmm...skeptical? :)
After getting everything together it was time to go to Africa! Then have turkey, of course!
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I love this kid! He always brings a smile to my face with his wild imagination!!! He thinks of everything to bring on a safari! I'd feel very safe with him protecting our camp with his light saber and rock!!! :) That is awesome!
