Happy Fathers Day, Michael! We had a great day together! Church was wonderful - complete with huge yummy cookies for all the fathers in the Ward :). We came home and fired up the grill! Michael grilled some steaks (ohhh yeah...) for us and played out on the patio with Jacob as they were grilling (naturally, Jacob was the assistant:P).

Bubbles! Jacob was laughing so hard at the bubbles - people walking by would stop and laugh and then play in the bubbles as they came down. It was a lot of fun!

I must admit that I had a pretty easy part in the yummy Fathers Day meal - mashed potatoes, salad and fun drinks...Michael's rib eye's were fantastic! I am not normally a steak person, but I think I am going to crave these.

Jacob's first root beer (I know...)! I don't know what he liked more - drinking out of a fun bottle or the actual drink. He told us that root beer is his new favorite drink!

After dinner it was time for presents! Jacob and I talked for days before about what to get Michael for his gift. Most of the things Jacob thought of were fun things to do together than actual gifts...so I came up with a plan that could incorporate the things that Jacob wanted to give. First we made him "medals" with some of the things Jacob is thankful for, that Michael does for him as his father. They were "Having fun and playing with me", "Reading books and telling fun stories with me", "Teaching me how to say my prayers" and "Helping to clean the house and take care of things" (all verbatim from Jacob). Jacob had a blast giving them to Michael one by one like the Olympics :). Those are just some of the great things Michael does as a father!

The other gift we made was a book that had tickets for fun things to do together. Jacob and I made a great list, and we are excited to use the tickets for some fun family times together. Of course, there are some that are just for Jacob and Michael ;).

After some fun play time, it was time for dessert! We had cheesecake with a fresh berry topping, and I also made a blueberry topping, but forgot to take a picture :).

It was a great day of good conversations, good family moments, good food and a lot of laughter! Happy Fathers Day, Michael! You are such an amazing father, and our home is blessed every day by you. Thank you for your example of faith, hard work, love, and joy!!
