Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

I have loved Dr. Seuss since I can remember. I love the imaginative, colorful, fun books he created. I think my first book by him was "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish." I could get lost just thinking of what book is my favorite - so I wont even try. I just love them.  I remembered a few lines from some books I really liked:

"Oh, the thinks you can think up if you only try!"

"I like you a lot! Its not as much fun when I am here and you are not."
"Out there things can happen
 and frequently do
to people as brainy and footsie as you.
And when things start to happen
 don't worry. Don't stew.
Just go right along.
You'll start happening too."

I even loved the strange, colorful artwork - to this day, it makes me feel young. Seeing the worlds he created was the beginning of looking at the world around me differently - creatively. I could not post this without remembering the trip to Central America with Rachel and all the times I would point out the funny "Dr. Seuss" trees in Guatemala especially. Great times, Rachel - you were very sweet to me and resilient - I didn't drive you crazy! I don't know how many pictures of trees I took during that trip, but I am sure there are more pictures of trees than people. :) This one is for you, Rachel! haha :)
I had a 4-pack of Dr. Seuss books when I was in college, and Jacob and I read them now (and we have definitely added to the collection since)...its great! He loves them too! Thanks for all the fun and learning over the years Dr. Seuss!
This gets me thinking of childrens books in general - they are one of my favorite things!! Hmm... I feel more kids books posts coming...if you have any recommendations, please share! :)

I LOVE Dr. Seuss so much that I'm throwing Ronin a Dr. Seuss themed birthdaypart in May. I can't wait!!! I just love the whimsical illistrations. I love the stories, and all of it! But mostly the whimsie of them!

Agreed to the Dr. Seuss books!WeI actually even had a topsy turvy-seuss like cake for our wedding. I love that all of his books have such deep messages that even parents can walk away learning something. I would suggest My Father's Dragon series...though they may be too old for Jacob, but for the future. I've also heard that Gnomes by Wil Hyugen is suppose to be fun, though I have yet to find it in the library.

I to love Dr. Seuss. The books are not only amusing, they teach principles. My favorite is Thidwick, The Big Hearted Moose.

Dr. Seuss IS awesome! I love all the ways he rhymes! We're working on reading with Kayla and we like Go Dog Go, Cat in the Hat, and Hop on Pop because of all the simple words. I love kid's books!

I LOVE Dr. Seuss TOO!! He has been there for me during many a Dr. office visits to help pass the time and keep my girls sane in tiny rooms that feel like closets-waiting! The girls think I am reading to them, the truth is, I get just as excited to hear the stories too.
