Grandma Carol's Visit, Day 1 :)

We had a great Mother's Day! After church the Thomander's came over and we all had lunch and spent some time together - just what I needed! It have to say that I am extremely blessed in the "in law" department. Michael has a wonderful family!
We had a lazy morning today with books, playing. It was cloudy and chilly, so we decided to make home made rolls and home made cinnamon rolls. Jacob was a great help!
He was so happy with the little rolls he made, and I was amazed at the care he took with the flour and shaping of it. My mother-in-law, Carol was great help - I had never made these before! We had a fun, messy time. While the rolls baked, we used another portion of the same dough to make cinnamon rolls! It was Jacob's first time with the rolling pin.
After we filled the house with the amazing smell of baked bread and cinnamon, the sun came out! Within moments we were taking Grandma Carol to the "dirt road" for a hike.
Jacob and Grandma Carol on our hike. Jacob led us most of the way, and was quite a gentleman.
My lovely Mother in law. :) We were standing out on the bluffs behind our complex. It is so beautiful there, you can see most of the city. The mountain just to the right of her is NORAD.
We threw rocks, played in the dirt, even sang songs...there was just one more thing left to do to make it the perfect afternoon - running full speed!  :)
It was such  a lovely day together. We got home and made dinner and spent the evening talking, laughing and playing with Grandma!
