It was a fun day out today! Carol came with us to Jacob's class (gymnastics at the
Capoeria studio where he will be learning
Capoeria in the fall) and had a blast! Jacob is learning several yoga poses, gymnastics, and how to be in a class with a teacher and peers outside of church, its wonderful!) After that we went to a park downtown before meeting Michael for lunch.

This sculpture was so fun! Jacob is in the middle of a growth spurt at the moment - you have to love the little round boy belly! :)

We went to La
Creperie, a french restaurant downtown. Carol served a mission before she was married in France and Belgium, the same mission as Michael's dad. They speak French beautifully, and the French tradition lives on in the family in cooking, culture...I love it!

Jacob had never had real French food before, he certainly loved the crepes! We all loved the food and had a wonderful time together. It was my first experience with real
Hollandaise sauce - YUM!

I mentioned to Carol how much I would love to learn to make crepes - and she was excited to show me! She and my mom are alike in their ability to make things that seem so intimidating in the kitchen seem totally possible. I was so thankful for her knowledge here.

Of course, it was only minutes before Jacob joined in and mixed the crepe batter for Carol while we added more ingredients.

After the batter and filling was done, Jacob still wanted to cook. Before I knew it, he had water in a pot, macaroni noodles and a spoon. The stool is his "stove and burners". :)

We had delicious grilled chicken for dinner thanks to Michael. After dinner we served the crepes we made a little while earlier - they turned out so well! I couldn't believe it! They really were divine - I am so glad I wrote down the recipe.
Mmmmm...happiness :) Thank you Carol for teaching us something new that you have done for years - we will think of you whenever we make them. Jacob calls them Grandma Carol Crepes.

It was our last night with Grandma with us. Jacob wasted no time in getting some more reading in with her - sea animal books, of course! :)

Jacob stayed up late playing and laughing with us for a while - just being together with Grandma.

Carol is truly a woman to admire. I love her dearly and I am so thankful to be her daughter-in-law. She is a wonderful mother and grandmother. We miss you already!!
