I tried to teach him something

I should start off my mentioning that in our FHE on Sunday we all agreed as a family to have a "family project" where none of us would watch any TV/Movies (anything) for at least a week. So...with 2 days a week to have access to a car - I have had to come up with some fun things to do, without driving myself nuts and still getting some things done :). We don't normally watch a lot of TV, but sometimes its nice to put something on and get a few things done...Jacob wanted a lot of my attention, so we did a few little projects together.
I wanted to make a paper chain about some of the things we are thankful for, you know, make it something more meaningful...well...by the time I got all the supplies out, Jacob was already cutting and well on his way. He didn't think that the "thankful chain" sounded good...so...
He first made an "airplane" and ran around for a while flying it...
Then decided it was time to make a chain. I still didn't get to do what I planned, but Jacob liked it. We talked about what we were thankful for - and I think we made it to cars by the time he moved on :P. Then he ran around with it and gave me some time to get some things done myself - so....HA! TV...take that! :P

I think I remember times we just enjoyed each other more that anything else about my family. It sounds like that kind of activity.

I think I would croak without TV!

Good for you! I've been trying to slowly phase down our tv time and computer time (eek. As I sit here on it right now.) We've made a pack that monday's are "white noise" free days-no tv-no distractions. Kudos to you on a whole week! That is awesome! It was hard for us for just one day.
I love how Jacob's attention is completely on the airplane's/cars. He's such a little boy! I love it!
