We had a great New Years Eve! Kathy, Dave, Kayla, Mom W and Phillip were all at our place. We got pizza (hooray - no cooking!) and had some fun with the kids before we put them to bed.
Jacob had never played Simon Says or Duck, Duck, Goose before...he caught on and had a great time! Thanks to everyone for being good sports while he figured it out :)

The kids were in bed by 8pm, so we could get out the yummy treats and snacks for the festivities. We had fresh fruit tart from my favorite bakery to start things off. I
didn't get any pictures then because we were all too happy eating the tart. :) Phillip, Mom W, Michael and I were talking one night about cheese - and discovered that we all love it! So Mom W and I went out and got some fun (and some funky,
haha) cheeses with fruit, and Kathy brought crackers, veggies and dip...it was delicious!
We played games until 2:30am! One of the funniest games was a combination of Guesstures, Clue and Telephone. Two of us went to another room while the rest of them came up with a who did it / with what / where. Then one of the people who left the room comes out and the others in the room have to act out (like charades) the who/what/where for them, without telling them if they got it right or not. Then the second person comes out and the first person to come back to the room has to act out all the clues they were given, then they solve the mystery. It was hilarious! There were many Chuck Norris jokes in the air that night, so he was in the mix. So, in honor of all the good humor:
Seeing Michael do his amazing Elvis impression, pretend to walk on the moon and act out making a shirt from deli meat were my favorite moments...my sides hurt the next day - I have to say that I have a fun, funny, wonderful family of in-laws. It was awesome to ring in the new year with them! We were having so much fun, we almost missed midnight! Michael and I are really looking forward to 2009.
