At the Zoo...

We had a great time last week at the Zoo with Kathy and Kayla! One of our favorite animals are near the entrance to the Zoo - the Giraffe's! There was one that kept expecting us to feed it or something because he kept sticking out his tongue at us. I finally thought I would tease him back and Kathy got a shot of it. Jacob loves feeding the giraffes (or as he likes to say "the giraf-fes") - at least if I am the one feeding them. He gets freaked out by those long black tongues sticking out at him. When he does feed them, he lets them lick off the cracker and then jumps back. Its fun to watch. I think we could just hang out and watch them all day.
They have another exibit called "Budgie Buddies" where you go into a large room, and there are all kinds of birds flying all around you. Poor Kayla got really freaked out when the birds came flying towards her to eat the seeds off a little stick she was holding. She handed the stick over to Jacob, and he caught a bird! Thanks Kayla for sharing with us! Jacob loved holding the little bird and even got to pet it.
Jacob and Kayla also got to pet a baby Wallaby! Jacob said that it felt like a cat :)...the funny thing about that is, he has never had the chance to pet a cat. It was a great day at the Zoo!
