Today was nice and sunny- so we went leaf hunting! We walked around to the back of our complex finding different colored leaves and bugs....etc. Jacob kept picking the crab apples off the tree and throwing them on the ground "so the birds can eat them".
The Monarch butterflies are migrating right now, and we saw a ton of them flying around! If you are familiar with Little Einsteins you will know why Jacob kept telling them to "have fun at your big butterfly family party!" I love the things that show teaches them.
You may not know this about me, but I am totally fascinated with nature. These leaves were dark green and red on the upside, but with the sun shining through them they look like this - maybe I'm just a big dork, but I thought it was awesome!
Jacob on the trail in the bluffs behind our complex - we love hiking through there because you feel so far away from the city. There were a ton of things to keep Jacob running through there.
The view of Pikes Peak from the bluff. Beautiful! After stopping several times to play in the sand/dirt or beat the ground with the stick we were on our way back home. Jacob was walking ahead of me and turned and said "Mom, I am having fun with you today." Melt my heart! :)
Jacob with his "treasures". A rock and a stick - man...I love how kids can find something special and fun in the most ordinary things. These two "treasures" are out on the porch (whew!). I realized that the Cars hoodie is in a lot of pics - we still have not bought a winter coat for Jacob :P. I didn't post any pics of the leaves we found because we are making something with them...stay tuned! :)

Awww, what a sweet day! I love it when my boys make little remarks like that to me too. We often go left hunting too. Man, I wish we lived close, we would just mesh so well and have so much fun hanging out!
