What was I thinking?

After Jacob went to bed last Wednesday night (the day of our first snow) I ran to Sams after Michael got home and found a great winter coat for Jacob. He was so excited to see it the next morning, and wanted to try it out - so without thinking, I gladly agreed...what was I thinking!?
We could have just gone and played outside our front door - but no...it looked Sunny and warmer, so before even going out the door I told Jacob we were walking to the park. I never use my stroller, but I did today - thinking I could walk faster and get a good little work out. I am normally the kind that checks the weather the night before...must have forgotten that night because when we got all geared up and in the stroller we got blasted with a burst of very cold air. I knew that if I suggested turning back I would have an outright mutiny on my hands, so I decided to keep going and just not stay too long at the park.
As you can see, Jacob had a great time - and thankfully the coat was nice and warm...that's about the only warm thing we had! Jacob got really into the snow and sand with his trucks, and I admit that I even got carried away (until he came along I never knew how fun a dump truck could be).

Jacob took this one of me - all huddled up in the freezing wind!
Jacob loves to push things (not just my buttons sometimes! :) really- haha). He loves to push other kids on rides or on toys, strollers, wheelchairs - he even pushed Nellie around in a wheelchair at the BX one day - all by himself! I was so excited to get moving and get warmer and looked over and Jacob was walking away with the stroller! I let him push it up the hill at the park (my motive was to get him really worn out so he would take a nap...haha). By the time he got to the top of the hill he gladly handed it over to me. Just then my sister-in-law Katie and her VT companion (and our good friend) Wendy drove by and stopped to offer a ride. We threw the stroller in the back of the truck and climbed into the nice warm Yukon! I never knew you could fit 3 strollers in the back of a Yukon (not to mention at least 1 12inch speaker pair box - haha). We were so thankful for the ride! We had fun - and no frostbite thanks to our lovely ladies and the big ol' SUV! Katie and that truck have come to our rescue several times - we love you! :)
