Ward Fall Festival

I haven't been online for a few days - so there are several posts from tonight...I'm finally getting caught up! Enjoy our craziness!
*****
Saturday was our ward "Fall Festival" (aka: Halloween party). Jacob was excited to wear his costume again. They had dinner (God bless whoever brought the little pot of Macaroni and Cheese! I cant get Jacob to eat soups or even chili) games, and trick-or-treating. Kathy and Kayla came, too - it was awesome!Jacob doing a bean bag toss into a huge Jack-O-Lantern. He got 1 in its eye and 1 in the mouth - I didn't know he could throw like that!
The Primary did marshmallows on a string - it was a blast! Here is Jacob getting ready - he was great, he didn't even try to use his hands at all...
Until the 5th swing - then he just wanted a marshmallow! haha! He held out pretty long for a 3 year old :) He doesn't get marshmallows too often - so this was a special treat.
Jacob and Kayla with their hands in a bowl of something icky (I think they told them it was worms or something). I thought it funny that Jacob wasn't fazed at all!
I have long felt that I was somehow related to Lumberjacks! :) Actually, I am related to this one - its my brother Jason (who is also in our ward). Great beard, huh? That ax is bigger than my head!
Another room was a tossing game with bean bag ghosts that they threw into pails. The sweet Relies Society President was running the whole time grabbing the little ghosts and throwing them back for the kids. It was hilarious! They really got going, and here is Jacob and Kayla throwing ghosts with the RS Pres. tossing them back as fast as she can...we call this "Ghost Fights!" :)

The night ended a little early, and I knew Jacob would not want to go home yet, so I leaned over to Kathy and asked her if she wanted to take the kids to the park next-door to our chapel. I was so excited when she said "Sure!" :)
That park has a crazy merry-go-round! It will just keep spinning and spinning...the kids loved it!
Jacob and Kayla on the swings - Jacob is doing his "Superman" move where he runs and pushes off the ground so he can "fly". It was so much fun! I felt I had a parental victory - Jacob only ate 1 piece of candy (without any crying or begging)!! It was great to hang out at the park in the dark and chat with Kathy - she is such a great sister! It was the perfect ending to a fun night.

How fun! The wards in our area did away with "halloween parties" and few years ago, but I'm excited for our ward's Trunk-Or-Treat. Great pictures, it feels like I was there-hahaha! I love those mystery items in the bowl games. Jacob makes a great fireman!!
