Its been years since I was a third wheel on a date...but when its Vera and Malcolm - I had to go! :) My lovely nieces babysat for us and they took me to have a true Southern experience...dinner at
Clark's Fish Camp. It looks like a shack on the riverbank. They had a pier that went out over the water, and it was a beautiful spot just as the sun was setting. These are two of my best friends!
Seeesters! Sometimes I
dont know how Vera does it - we had the same about of sleep deprivation (late night talks and other adventures) and yet I am the only one who had major tired eyes!

Beautiful! We ate outside over the water. When the sun went down things got loud. I thought maybe their heater/air conditioner was on the fritz...but it was a bunch of frogs making some seriously strange sounds. It was funny...

I ate alligator! Yep - it was not bad actually. It was like chicken only slightly more chewy. I think psychologically I had to tell myself I was not eating an alligator in order to try it for the first time - but it tasted good, so I soon got over it...welcome to the South!

I was going for the full experience here...and boy was I in for a surprise. The food was great, except the oysters - I am NOT an oyster fan...yuk.

This was my soft shell crab. It was really good, but hard to look at and eat because they left the shell on - and it still had eyes!! I have always told myself that I would never eat anything with eyes on it...guess I can take that one off my list. It was a fun dinner!

The restaurant itself was...well...eclectic...yeah, that would be a good word. It was packed with animals everywhere - crazy bird displays, wild animals, and strange noises. They had animal sounds playing at this display in the front of the restaurant - it was pretty funny to see in person.

There was animals everywhere!!

I had such a great time with Vera and Malcolm. Good food, great conversation...it was the best 3rd wheel night I've ever had! :)
