Silver Springs

My sister Vera loves to find new fun things - all kinds of things. Places to go, projects, games, food...she has always been one for adventure. We decided to go somewhere none of us had been before, Silver Springs. They had fun animals, activities and glass-bottom boat rides of the natural spring it surrounds. These are just a few of the alligators they have there - yikes!
Jacob loved seeing so many animals! Living in Colorado, you don't get to see alligators much - even at our zoo. The flamingo's were also a favorite, Jacob told me he wanted to stand and walk like a flamingo :) A HUGE turtle! Its shell had more space than a chair! Jacob asked if we could ride on it - but I think they frown on that sort of thing. He told me this one must have been Crush's (from Finding Nemo) grandpa because he was so big.
Alligators!! They had one that was over 14 feet long! They also had white alligators - which looked a bit strange. This one is not dead - he's just floating in the water...
The glass bottom boat rides were so fun! The pictures I took though the bottom did not turn out so well - oops. They had a ton of animals to see along the spring. It seemed like almost every branch in the water had turtles lined up on it.
Jacob loved the boat rides! So far, Jacob rode on planes, trains and now boats - he was loving every minute of it! Here is the kids looking down in the glass on one of the boat rides.
There has been several movies filmed at Silver Springs because the water is so clear. They have statues of Greek Gods at the bottom of the largest cavern there that were fun to see. Jacob loved the rides and was happy to be surprised by so many animals!
They also had bears, giraffes, kid rides. Jacob named the biggest bear "Daddy Michael". :) It was an awesome day! Thank you Moody's!
