Have you ever had a small moment when you see your little one and realize that they are even more amazing that you thought? Well, this was a simple moment, but it sure did my heart some good. Jacob and Katelyn were great buddies. This afternoon they went out to play in the back yard and I noticed that things got quiet - so naturally I had to go check on them. They were sitting in the swings by each other having a conversation. It was so cool to see them there interacting like little grown-ups. They were talking about their families. I didn't want to go out there to listen to get details and ruin a great thing, so I took a quick picture and let them talk...sweet moment!

We also had fun story time with Vera. She loves children's books as much as I do - so it was fun for all of us! She is such a great mom and inspiration to me.

While the kids were having fun outside, Vera introduced me to another level of domesticity - sewing! I got some beautiful fabric to make an apron and Vera helped me get everything cut and measured. We didn't use a traditional pattern, we used an apron my grandma made and then modified it to be what I wanted -
ipod pocket and all! :)

We didn't have time to get it sewn that day - but I would have been so lost without Vera. I am so intimidated my sewing...thankfully I am trying to get over that. I just need to tape a seam stripper to the machine to remind me that its not
that permanent!
haha
