1 word: Lovely.

Vera's daughter Lauren was home sick that day (we are SO glad you are feeling better Lauren!) so Vera let us borrow all sorts of fun toys and Jacob and I went to the beach! Jacob was in heaven! He discovered quickly how fun it was to throw the sand into the water - boys :). I love this pic because you can see all the sand flying though the air...

He was completely fearless with the water. This was Jacob's first time at the beach. The pose here is the one you only see when he is really, REALLY excited about what's coming. We have not laughed that much together for a long time.

He loved digging his little feet down in the sand and letting the waves get him - and bury his feet even more! Even getting stuck was hilarious to him. Even though he had never been to a beach before, he seemed so at home and in his element - it was wonderful to see, and made me want to move! :)

Most kids there would run up the shore away from the waves...not Jacob - he would run into them.

He also realized that he could in the tide and let the water come to him.

I thought he would me a little scared, but nope - he loved it! He would sit there and get bowled over by the tide and laugh hysterically.

Jacob played so well - I got to sit and enjoy this view for a while and work on my tan (really!).

My legs are under here - Jacob did a great job burying them!

After a while we decided to head home. It was such a relaxed, fun and happy day together! Jacob had sand everywhere - so it was strait home for a bath! I am envious of those who live close to beaches - what a fun. free and awesome way to spend your mornings. If we lived there, we would be there at least once a week!
