Happy Birthday Michael!!

Michael's birthday was so fun! Jacob and I had only been home 1 day, just enough time to get all the surprises! After work, we went to Chilli's for dinner - YUM!
We had a great dinner and we laughed and talked about all kinds of things. I told the hostess that it was Michael's birthday, and we finished our dinner, and still no one came to sing or anything. I was beginning to wonder if they forgot. Michael does not like to be embarrassed like that, and he asked me if I told them it was his birthday - I reluctantly told him I did. Just then the server came to the table with a huge molten chocolate cake for him and explained that he was just told it was his birthday, and he wanted us to have the cake and apologized for not having the chance to sing to Michael. It worked out perfectly! Michael was not embarrassed, and we all had some yummy chocolate cake! So, thanks forgetful hostess :).
Michael requested a strawberry cake with lemon frosting for his birthday cake. Jacob and I had made it earlier that day, but after that huge chocolate cake at Chilli's none of us were up for it...so we decided to make it a birthday weekend!

We got Michael a grill for his birthday! We have wanted one for a while now, and I had been saving up - Jacob and I were so excited to give it to him! He found out about it early though, because Jacob told him that we got him a tank (the gas for the grill) for his birthday the day before. We also picked out grilling tools to go with the apron I made. It was late when we got home from dinner, so we planned on putting the grill together Saturday and having Carne Asada on the grill for dinner - yay! Of course, Jacob had to help Michael put the grill together :).
They make a great team. Jacob has had so many opportunities to help Michael with things like that, he did a great job! He is starting to read directions, get the right tools - it was so fun to watch!
It took longer than we thought to put the grill together, and we also planned on celebrating by going to a movie together - so we put the grill on hold and went to the movies!
We took Michael to see Monsters Vs. Aliens and had so much fun! After that we went to the bookstore, one of our personal favorites. It had been a while since we had a fun day out together, we all needed it! Michael finished putting the grill together when we got home.
