Saturday was Rachel and Gary's temple wedding day!! It was beautiful. I was so thankful to be there with them and most of my family. Jacob was also excited to get to go up to the Temple. We listened to the Book of Mormon on CD on the way up there, and it we had a few moments to talk with Jacob about doctrine and stories we heard. I was honestly amazed that he was listening like that! :) We went a little early so Michael could do some work there and Jacob and I walked around and spent time together outside.

They have their nativity up on the Temple grounds, so naturally Jacob had to explore! I took several pictures where he was smiling at me, but this one was my favorite...Jacob being Jacob.

After a good walk we went to the Visitors Center and Jacob loved seeing the big
Christus statue. He has also seen the huge statue similar to this one at the Visitors Center in Salt Lake, so he recognized this instantly. He even talked with me about Jesus Christ and the marks in His hands and feet. I am SO happy we decided to bring Jacob with us that day.

Thanks to my sister-in-laws parents who watched Jacob there at the Visitors Center, I was able to meet everyone inside. It was an amazing ceremony. Afterwords, we thought we might take some pictures outside...maybe get one for the Christmas cards...and the one that might have worked was this one: (thanks Jacob...you are such a goober! We love you!)

I love this picture because its in the same spot that Michael and I stood on our wedding day 4 1/2 years ago. My how things have changed!

It was great for Jacob to see his family there at the temple and reaffirm to him how important it is to begin our own families there. He is really excited to be able to go inside someday - and I have all confidence he will :). I am truly thankful for the Temple and the ordinances we do there. I know that it is The Lords house, and that we can grow closer to Heavenly Father by serving there and living worthy to enter. Heavenly Father commanded prophets of old to build Temples - and He does in our day as well.

Awww! I love this blog! What cute pictures you guys took and had taken of you! Isn't crazy/cool to think back of how life was before having kids and then seeing where you are now? I love it. What a great blog and good for you in going to the temple! I need to be better at that.
Cool! I have only been to one temple wedding after my own. I like your temple, very pretty.
ps- I love how much Jacob already knows about the gospel. I can tell from just at church and your blogs at the love and respect he already has for it. It shows what great parents he has, and the love you and your hubby have for the gospel. What a great mother you are!
