Now that its over, I can tell everyone! (haha) My sweet sister Rachel and her husband Gary were sealed in the Denver LDS temple this last Saturday. 2 weeks ago, my amazing sister Vera (who lives in Jacksonville, FL) called and told me she was flying out for their special day - and wanted me to help her keep the secret...I loved it! So, for 2 weeks I got to have conversations about how much fun it would be if Vera came out and held it all in for the sake of a once in a lifetime sight like the one here. I drove up to DIA (aka: the tent in the middle of the snow belt/middle of nowhere they like to call the Denver Airport) to pick Vera up Thursday night. I took her to my Dad's laboratory for the big surprise. I pretended to make a little Christmas video of my parents to send to Vera's family so I had a reason to have the video camera out. After a few seconds, Vera walked in the door...
We were hugging and crying and talking when all of the sudden, Rachel and Gary pulled up! Vera ran and hid so she could surprise them, too...
Needless to say, it was awesome! The 3 of us girls (and Jacob, too) went to lunch and spent the day together...it was a lovely day with 3 of my favorite people who love me for who I am and I can just be myself with. Don't you love Rachel's cute preggo belly??? :) I think its also funny to hear Jacob telling me how many mommies we had in the room.
I didn't tell Jacob that Vera was coming either, I wanted him to get a good surprise. So, he woke up that morning to Aunt Vera asleep on our living room floor! He was so excited and instantly began giving her hugs and playing. He had such a great time with her!!
Sometimes I think of my sisters and I like "Little Women"...we love each other deeply, we are each different from the other, and would do anything for our sisters! I have another sister who was not there, hopefully someday soon we can all be together like we used to be.
